Wednesday - Magic Kingdom

At the Magic Kingdom my favourite ride was Splash Mountain - another classic - I Like the technology of the new stuff but the original rides are great. Its a log flume but with a story featuring characters from Song of The South.

The other top ride/show and one of Rach's favourites was Philharmagic - brilliant 3D animated film on a massive screen.

We ate one of the parks' restaurants - Tony's, an Italian based on Lady and the Tramp - we didn't have Spaghetti tho!

(Photo's to follow)

We went to Downtown Disney in the evening - this is a massive waterfront area with shops, lots of places to eat and where Cirque Du Soleil is, Rachel loved the Christmas Shop and we had subs at The Earl of Sandwich - which as the name suggests does very good sandwiches!

Rob.

tuesday- Universal Studios

Rob had been really looking forward to this park i had done it when i did camp america in 2004 and didnt love it so i was hoping today would change my mind.

It was really quiet to start with so took the photos you just have to when your here

note new m&m top lol

So we walked past everything and headed straight for the new Simpsons Ride, this was AWESOME as much as we missed Back to the Future we loved the simpsons, so took a few photos around here.

We had a walk to the other side of the water and came across this......... it has to be done doesnt it?

We went on a ton of rides, Mummy, Twister, SHREK 3D, but the best thing of all was when this happened.

Rob met Doc Brown from back to the future, we has so excited, we had worn his t shirt especially so he was chuffed,
Along the way we ran into these guys

i was boiling so no idea how these guys were coping.

We did quite a bit of shopping here, i got a simpsons top- dont worry its not yellow lol, rob got a universal top, a E.T top, a Terminator top and a E.T cushion, ive never seen him spend like this its most odd lol.

In the evening, we got a taxi to Michaels which is a huge craft shop where i went well a little mad, darent show you what i got lol, then we walked over to Walmart which i just love we got tons, t shirts, dvds, more t shirts, a bit more scrappy stuff, a watch, dirt cheap make up, alsorts it was great, just a shame that its a taxi away.

overall great day!

Day 4 Sept 22nd- Blizzard Beach

Right i am trying to catch up as we have a lazy morning today and im starting to forget what we did when etc :(

Today we headed off to Blizzard Beach which is a disney water park which a snowy theme fun huh!
Obviously being a water park i there were slides which i dont like so i sat and watched rob ride them.

Rob finally convinced me to go on the lazy river in a big rubber ring or here they call them a 'TUBE', this was really fun and slow my kind of ride, there were a few photopass people in the water too ( a photopass basically is someone taking your photo at random points around the park and they scan a card and we say if we keep them, but we have already prepaid for this so we want 100s as its quite pricey) so most chuffed to have some in the water, we also had our water camera to take fun ones, but that needs developing which we havent done for donkeys, but hope to do that in next few days.

There was also some fun things to have your photo taken will and you all no how i love a photo op! (that will of course then be scrapped lol)

We then went to the wave pool while i was still in the water frame of mind, and got somemore photopass photos so rather chuffed.

We then headed to the fantastic mini golf course which i had been really looking forward to being all CHRISTMAS THEMED!!!!!!!!!
it was really cool quite pricey at about $24 but so worth it, it was really quite too so we could mess about and take tons of photos. this is what greeted us at the enterance woo hoo!

So began the course and i have to say i went from a few hole in ones to being useless and then forgetting to write the score down but i didnt care i was there for the photos!!!!!!

There were santas, igloo, castles, tons of stuff i loved and it really helped that it was quite overcast so we didnt melt, which is always good news.

When we got to the 17th hole (robs fav number) he found a gift for him

After we finished the golf we had a bit of rain- well quite alot so we thought we would go to the Florida Mall which was a hour away on the bus, when we waited at the bus stop some kind driver went past us and soaked us literally from head to toe, we were not impressed, esp as a hour journey on a air conditioned bus bbbbrrrr!

Anyway my whole point of going to the mall was to find the scrappy boutique which is a specialist scrapbook shop i had heard loads about it, but could we find it could we heck! we literally wondered for a hour its outside the mall so no one seemed to have heard of it, by this point we were just stupidily wet, i finally give up, so we heard to Ruby Tuesdays for tea which was yummy, i had the shrimp and salmon, we barely had any time in the mall as i had had us running around but just enough time to go into M&M WORLD and i got a fabby t shirt, the journey home wasnt too bad.

and thats all

Photo Update

So we are running a bit behind on our blog, but we are getting back so late & uploading the day's photos on a G3 iBook takes an age (if you try and do anything else at the same time it just grinds to a halt)

Top 3 Rides/Shows at Disney Hollywood Studios: Toy Story Mania, Beauty & Beast Live, Rock and Rollercoaster (I liked the Great Movie Adventure ride - it was cheesy slow anamatronic ride thru old films - classic!)

day 3 sept 21- Disney Hollywood Studios

With a early start we didnt really have time to get breakfast so we just grabbed some sweets and things not great but it did the job.

So our first day at Disney, and it was quite busy with a huge rush to the Toy Story Mania ride got there about 9.15 and was already a 15 min wait.

The ride was awesome like the buzz lightyer one in Paris but even better it was really fun so we fastpassed on the way out so we could go again later.

Next we headed over to the Tower of Terror which wasnt even open when we did paris so were looking forward to it, this was good but i didnt think it was worth all the hype but still good, next was Rockin Rollarcoaster which was a Aerosmith based ride and it was very fast 0-65 in a few seconds, this was fun but vvverrrryy fast!

Next we did the Beauty and the Beast show which was fantastic glad of a bit of shade as it was getting very hot by now.

We then wondered around looking for lunch, we decided to do to the SCI FI cafe which was a great themed restaurant in the dark with a drive in theme and a huge tv showing old sci fi cartoons, rob was in his element with cartoons and burgers. We both got a burger and the hugest milkshake ever took ages to drink/eat it, but it was really fab and well worth a visit.

photo to follow.

we did all the other rides we wanted, but we're flagging a bit but lasted until the show at 8 o'clock, FANTASMIC which was a stadium full of over 6,000 people and mickey did a big show on water, with boats, fireworks and everything it was fab.

again photos to follow- as they wont upload and we need to leave lol

we stopped for a night time photo by the hat and its my favourtie so far- grr photo to follow.

but a great day if not really rather long

Seaworld- saturday 20th

Today was our first full day, we headed over to a restaurant for our first American breakfast and boy were we in for a treat, well rob....... was i had the most normal thing i could find, hash brown, egg and link sausages which sounded pretty safe. rob however was a bit more experimental.

rob had very sweet french toast which was more like a pancake (we also had a plate for them too) this meal mixed sausage and egg with strawberries and banana and cream, and huge blob of butter for good measure. Half way through his body decided it was just wrong to mix dessert and meat, and he felt rather sick half way through but recovered well, and eat quite alot.

We made the short walk to Seaworld sorted out our tickets and went in.

There was only 2 rides we really wanted to do but i got pretty distracted with feeding the dolphins woo hoo! you had to buy a tray of fish for $7 rob didnt want to so he went to the viewing area to take photos, was really odd feeding them odd enough i had a hold these dead fish, but the dolphins were huge and we had to stroke underneath its mouth they were really hard and rubber like, it was really good and there were tons of them.

After this we did the rides, Journey to Atlantis which was a water ride but didnt get too wet, took a few sneaky photos on our water camera so dont know how well they would work out.
We then did Kraken which was a leg dangling ride, this was really fast and upside down and rather scary.a proper rollar coaster.

But the best bits of the park were the shows they had, Believe was great where they rode around on Killer Whales

All the shows were really fab and really made the park for us, we also did a pedlow ride on a flamingo which was fun.(a plastic one)

We had a bit of a chill at the hotel and headed out on I-Drive for a meal we went to Tony Romas which was really nice and fancy yet it was only $20 for both of us with drinks, not quite sure how that worked out but it was lovely.

Great first full day

Our Hotel

Rob

This is Rob, it is 8:30am your time/3.30am here and I cannot sleep. It might seem a bit weird and sad blogging in the middle of the night on my hols but Rach has got me into this blogging thing! Bit of fun. Especially weird as I never update facebook because I dont think anyone is really interested in what im up to, but there is so much to do on this holiday it should hopefully be an interesting read! and a diary for us anyway.

On our Virgin flight we had a bag full of some freebies like a toothbrush and eye mask. There was also some Virgin Red socks. We both thought these were DVT socks and soon took of our shoes and socks off and put them on. When we pulled them up to just below our ankles and that was as far as they went, we soon realised these were just ordinary socks and we looked a bit stupid both sitting there with our bright red feet! There were no seats ahead of us so everyone could check them out but we kept them on all journey.

As its the end of september we were worried it would have cooled off loads but as soon as we left the airport the heat hit us. It felt about 35c! We were picked up by an Italian American called Vincent and Chauffeur driven in a fancy 'limo' (I though all limo's were stretch limo's - this was just a nice car. We thought Topolino Tours would be a crappy minibus! He was telling us all about Orlando but we are so prepared (booked in Feb) we knew it all. We just nodded saying wow and pretended it was all new to us; "Did you know you are right across the road from Seaworld?" Of course we did! Nice guy though. Hope $6 dollar tip is the going rate.

See Ya!

Day 1

We have had a great first day, the flight went well with tons of leg room, we watched loads of films, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Son of Rambow and Kung Fu Panda.

but at 2.27am its been a long day (started at 6.15am), so just short post today, our hotel is gorgeous, some people were really mean on trip advisor but we love it, we have a lovely sink areas and kitchen bit with microwave, fridge etc with 2 huge double beds and a flat screen tv very swish!, we got here about 3pm and chilled out in the hotel room for a bit unpacked etc, then i went to pick up my super exciting huge scrappy parcel up, then we headed out on international drive for some food, after a minor mix up on the i-trolley which is a bus that you can hop on and hop off, we made it a busy area, after a walk around and a trip to 'walgreens' for some mountain dew for rob we shamefully went to subway for our tea, as we didnt fancy a big meal.

got back to the room about 8 ish and watched some tv, really looking forward to our trip to seaworld tomo having passed it on the i trolley earlier.

oh its really blooming hot as well, everyone we have seen is burnt and set to be like this for a while so good news.

hope you enjoy our first post
